Make Your Vote Count This Presidential Election

GREENSBORO, NC -- The General Election is now less than two months away, and WMFY News 2 wants to help Triad-area voters get up to speed on the rules, reminders and dates they need to know before hitting the polls.

VOTING SCHEDULE:

  • Oct. 20 - early voting and same-day registration begin
  • Nov .1 - deadline to request absentee ballot
  • Nov. 5 - early voting ends
  • Nov. 8 - Election Day (absentee ballots due)

VOTING RULES

 

  • No photo ID required (Supreme Court decided not to reinstate NC's controversial Voter ID law)
  • Same-day registration allowed
  • 17 early voting days
  • Vote in assigned precinct (look up polling place here)

DEBATE SCHEDULE

  • Sept. 26 - Presidential debate #1, Hempstead, NY
  • Oct. 4 - Vice-Presidential debate #1,  Farmville, VA
  • Oct. 9 - Presidential debate #2, St. Louis, MO
  • Oct. 19 - Presidential debate #3, Las Vegas
