Celebrate Summer With The Summer Solstice Celebration

GREENSBORO, NC -- The summer solstice is the longest day of the year. This year, it falls on Saturday, June 21, so the city is hosting the Summer Solstice Celebration at the Greensboro Arboretum.

This Summer Solstice Celebration celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year! There will be 25 musical performances on three stages and they'll perform over the course of the day. There will also be face painting, hooping, drums and dancing will be showcased throughout the day beginning at 2:00 pm. Once the sun sets, a fire finale will start at 9:00 pm!

The Celebration also features a bazaar that will be spread throughout the Greensboro Arboretum and Lindley Park. Vendors will offer an array of merchandise and services for the entire family, including art, jewelry, clothing, and accoutrements of all kinds.

There will also be an array of food and beverages will be available, so bring a blanket and picnic in the park.

The Summer Solstice Celebration is free and opens to the public at 2:00 pm and closes after an awesome fire show at 10:00pm. For more information, click here, or follow them on twitter at: @GSO_Solstice.

The Solstice is a huge dress up affair and since it is a Faerie festival- you may want to don your wings and glitter and come dance in the moonlight.

If rain means they have to re-schedule, the event will be held Sunday, June 22.
