Wyndham Worldwide president and CEO Stephen Holmes was at the Pro-Am Wednesday and checked in with WFMY News 2. He said during the Pro-Am, caddies of the participating golfers will have a chance to win free Wyndham Resorts vacations for life. The first caddie to sink a hole-in-one at hole 16 will obtain this prize. The professional golfers will have through the duration of the Wyndham Championship tournament to compete for the same prize by being the first to get a hole-in-one at hole 16.
Wyndham Worldwide has been sponsoring the Wyndham Championship since 2007. Prior to that, the Wyndham Championship was known as the Greater Greensboro Open and has been played at three different courses--Starmount, Forest Oaks and Sedgefield-- since Sam Snead clinched the first tournament win in 1938.
