Cruise In For A Good Cause: Honoring Our Vets

Classic Car Show Helping Veterans

ASHEBORO, NC -- Car lovers, start your engines! You'll be able to see dozens of classic cars up close and personal this weekend for a great cause.

Wayne McGrady with Wayne Thomas Chevrolet joined Lauren Melvin on the Good Morning Show to talk about the Honoring Our Vets Cruise In happening Saturday. While the cars are sure to be a big draw, it's not just about the cars. The event is a fundraiser for Triad veterans. The proceeds go to and are distributed by the Randolph County Veterans Council, an organization that serves the Veterans of Randolph County.

Last year, the event raised $17,500 and this year they're hoping to top that number. One way they're doing that is the raffle. A 350 crate motor will be given away at 3:00pm with purchase of $1.00 ticket.

The day will also feature a military band, a military flyover, and moment to honor veterans. After the raffle drawing, the classic cars will line up for a cruise through downtown Asheboro.

It all happens Saturday, September 17th from 9:00am - 3:30pm in the parking lot on 1400 East Dixie Drive next to Wayne Thomas Chevrolet Cadillac in Asheboro.
