GREENSBORO, NC – With the summer heating up, it is time to check your air conditioning systems to make sure they're operating at peak performance.
There are plenty of steps you can take to make sure your unit has a long life span. Tom Garcia, of Southern Evergreen, also has tips to help you keep your energy costs down.
On Tuesday, Garcia shared his expert energy saving measures that are low cost but save big bucks.
Some of his tips include:
• Hiring a professional heat and air technician to tune up your system to peak performance. Over time, units can lose performance and that means it costs more to operate.
• Ceiling Fans can save big bucks
• Programmable thermostats are important. Today's units even connect to the internet and allow for remote operation using a smart phone app.
• To save money, do an easy cleaning on the condensing coil and keep debris away from the compressor unit outside your home.
