Greensboro To Celebrate 206th Birthday

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- It's a big weekend for the city of Greensboro. The Gate City is turning 206, and the Greensboro Historical Museum is taking part in the celebrations.

Friday, the Historical Museum held a preview event on what to expect for the weekend's festivities.

The Greensboro Birthday Bash will be Saturday, March 22 at the museum on 130 Summit Ave. starting at 11:00 a.m.

  • 11:00 a.m. : Try It in the Gate City- Make it, try it on, listen in, take a peek, have a taste
  • Noon : Birth of a City- Talk by Director Carol Hart
  • 1:00 p.m. : Take a Tour- Living History Meet and Greet
  • 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. : Jugtown Potter Travis Owens- Two signature pieces on sale for first time
  • 2:00 p.m. : We Love Our Neighborhoods- Talk by Community Historian Linda Evans
  • 3:00 p.m. : Take a Tour- Living History Meet and Greet
