High Point Police Department Hosts Free Community Day Saturday

HPPD Community Day

HIGH POINT, N.C. --  High Point Police are battling a disturbing crime trend dealing with Opioid abuse and a string of summer shootings in the city.
Officers believe the answer to solving more cases starts with you.  The Police Department is building community relationships and they've found a fun and free way to do it.
The High Point Police Department is hosting a free community day this Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
High Point Police Major Travis Stroud says solving and preventing crimes is only possible when the community and police have a partnership.
That's why they're holding a free community day that features a great line up of family-friendly activities.
There will be a tactical and K9 demo, a Halloween Costume contest, a cops versus kids kickball tournament and even a cops eating doughnuts eating contest.
Don't miss out on the free food, games and entertainment from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
The High Point Police Department's Community Day will be at the police headquarters located at 1009 Leonard Avenue.
