If you've ever wondered how famous actors such as Brad Pitt or Matt Damon got their start in the business... I'll tell you. They started as extras!

But, how do you get your foot in the door?

I went to our version of Hollywood, "Wilmywood" to find out. I got insider tips from casting director Marty Siu, and she told me the best way to find jobs is online. Nowadays casting directors post the roles they're looking to cast on Facebook. She says you don't need a glamorous head shot to apply, you can simply submit a selfie.

She does warn the hours on-set can be long. The average day for an extra is 12 hours. However, there are a lot of perks. You get free food, meet cool people, and see what life is really like behind the scenes of your favorite TV show or movie.
