How To Defend Yourself In An Attack

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and we're showing you how to protect yourself in the event of an attack.

David Stacy with Octagon MMA and Krav Maga in Greensboro showed us four moves you can use if ever faced in a dangerous situation. He also told us why it's so important to familiarize yourself with these techniques. He says one assault happens every two minutes in the United States, and one in six women will be involved in an attempted or completed sexual assault.

Here are some tips he shared:
"1) If something feels wrong, listen. Women's intuition is real. If you are unsure, it's better to take extra precaution.
2) Practice self-protection first, and self-defense for when that fails.
3) Fight back. The statistics are in your favor. Don't make it easy. Make them unwilling or unable to continue fighting.
4) Train. You have car insurance, home insurance, dental insurance, etc. What you know as life insurance is actually death insurance. Training is your real life insurance."
