HIGH POINT, N.C. – Some of the biggest names in jazz are in the Triad this weekend for the John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival.
Headliners include Esperanza Spalding, Kenny G and Gregory Porter.
This is the 6th year for the annual festival. It started as a way to honor famous jazz musician, John Coltrane.
Coltrane was born in Hamlet, NC but his family lived in High Point for most of his childhood. He learned to play the saxophone while attending High School in High Point.
The festival will take place September 3 – 4 at Oak Hollow Festival Park in High Point. Shows run from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on both days.
