Labor Day Recipes: Burger Warfare

GREENSBORO, NC -- Spice up your Labor Day meal with new takes on a cookout classic: burgers.

Burger Warfare general manager Ralph Singleton stops by the Good Morning Show Monday to share some unique burger recipes:

 

BLACK BEAN BURGER

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cans Black Beans Drained, Rinsed
  • ¼ Cup Red Onion Chopped
  • 1 Tbsp Green Curry Paste     
  • ½  Cup Panko     
  • ¼ Tbsp Sea Salt     
  • ¼ Bunch Cilantro Chopped
  • 1 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar     

  Procedure: Mash or process one can of black beans. Add all remaining ingredients and mix well.

 

FIRE ROASTED GUAC

  • 3 Each Avocados
  • 1 Each Tomato diced
  • 1 Each Jalapeno
  • ½ Each Red Onion sliced
  • 2 Each Limes     
  • 1 Bunch Cilantro chopped
  •  Salt & Pepper     
  •  Olive Oil
  • 1 Tsp Cumin     

Procedure: Brush jalapeno and red onion with olive oil and sea salt. Grill over open flame for five minutes each side. Remove skin and seeds from jalapeno and dice. Chop red onion fine. In a separate bowl, smash avocado with a fork. Add all ingredients and mix. Add salt and pepper to taste.

SMOKED SWEET DANK

Ingredients:

  • Quantity Unit Ingredient Notes
  • 2 Each Sweet Potatos Sliced and smoked
  • ½ # Brown Sugar     
  • ¾ Cups  Tomato Paste     
  • 1 Tbsp Mustard     
  • ½ Tbsp Allspice Ground
  • ½ Tbsp Thyme     
  • ½ Tbsp Granulated Garlic     
  • ½ Ea Jalapeno chopped
  • 1 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar     


Procedure: smoke sweet potatoes for 10 minutes. Combine with remaining ingredients. Simmer for one hour. Puree and strain.
