The American Heart Association reports heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women. They say more women will die from heart disease than all cancers combined. That is why it is so important to have a conversation about being heart healthy with your family now. You have a chance to do that this Sunday at The AHA's "Mother Daughter Tea And Fashion Show" at The O.Henry Hotel.
Registered Dietitian, Christie Hunter stopped by with her two daughters to show you how to get your kids involved in eating healthier. Her daughters Caitlin and Alexis showed us how easy it is to make roasted broccoli, salmon, and quinoa. This is just a sample of all the activities you can experience on Sunday.
Mother and daughter duos will be showing off the newest spring trends from Macys and discuss why they're choosing to live heart healthier lives. There will be a fitness area where experts from "Off' N Running" will show you what's new in the fitness world. Also, trying new types of food and high tea. This is a great opportunity for mothers and daughters to bond while also meeting other women in the community.
Tickets are still available and cost $30 for adults, $15 for students, and kids four years old and younger get in free. To get tickets or more information, you can contact Ruth Heyd: Ruth.Heyd@Heart.Org.
