GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Groceries, gas; you have to buy this stuff every week! So how in the world will you ever get out of debt if you keep spending? Our Debt Expert Ja'Net Adams has a way.
"What we don't realize is that spending money every single day is delaying us from paying off debt or saving more," said Adams, who wrote the book Debt Sucks: Everyone's Guide To Winning At Money So They Can Live Their Dreams.
"There was a strategy that I used on my journey to being debt free that I share in my books and workbooks. It's what I call No Spending Days."
No Spending Days should be two or more days a week where you don't spend a penny! You don't buy gas, you don't go out for lunch, you don't buy the outfit that you saw online. All you do on a no spending day is save your hard earned money.
"Think about the amount of money you spend on any given day on just food and if you have a family that number is even larger," said Adams. "Recently, I found myself spending $30 on food in one day. That does not include gas or the clothes that I picked up from the cleaners."
We can all easily spend $100 in a day. "Imagine the money saved if we took two days out of every week to save that money. Any debt you may have will disappear pretty quickly," added Adams.
No Spending Days are another way to keep more money in your pockets and not others. When you have more money you can pay debt off or use it to save for the future.
