GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Breast cancer awareness month starts next week and one way you can kick off the October awareness campaign is with Pink In The Park.
It's a day to honor, remember and celebrate the men and women who are impacted by breast cancer.
Mary Jean Nelson from Greensboro Imaging, helps put on the event every year. Nelson says Pink In The Park is unique because it's more about awareness than fundraising.
"It's not a fundraiser, it's not a walk, it's not a run," said Nelson. "It is a celebration of life for anyone who has had breast cancer or has had their lives touched by it in any way."
Nelson says it's a time for you to come out, have some fun and most importantly remember those who have lost the battle with breast cancer.
"You can put a ribbon on the memorial survivor line to honor anyone who is in your life who has had to go through breast cancer," said Nelson, who described it as a touching and moving experience.
Pink In The Park is this Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in LeBauer Park in Downtown Greensboro.
