Race To Send Families of Cancer Fighters On Vacation

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- it started as an idea: a way to send people battling breast cancer on vacation for free. No stress, no worries, just a week to relax with their families.

Four years ago the group Little Pink Houses Of Hope was able to put together a handful of these retreats. This year there are 14, each serving ten families. But, this just the beginning. The group's founder Jeanine Patten-Coble, who is also a breast cancer survivor, wants to send more families on the much needed vacations.

The upcoming fundraiser which is loosely based on the CBS reality show "The Amazing Race," allows participants to solve clues to get to their next destination and perform a challenge when they get there. All they need is a team of two, a cell phone and a car.

The deadline to sign up for "The Amazing Race: Little Pink Edition" is April 30. The race is May 3. Find more information about registration and fundraising here.
