Randolph County, N.C. -- It was one of Lynda Petty's favorite charity events and on Saturday, April 5, 2014 the Hospice of Randolph County's signature event will be dedicated in her honor.
David Caughron with Hospice of Randolph County explained the connection between the mother of NASCAR and the Home and Garden Expo.
"Lynda was a great woman. She had such a passionate love for our community," he said. "With this event coming up this Saturday, her love of flowers, gardening we couldn't think of a better tribute for her."
Caughron told WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain, Monday on the Good Morning Show that Lynda Petty served on the Hospice of Randolph County's Board of Directors for a number of years.
"She and Richard also served as Honorary co-chairs of the capital campaign when we were building the Randolph Hospice House," added Caughron.
The Spring Home & Garden Expo features something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a lawn mower, gas grill, flowers/plants for your garden or items to spruce up your bathroom, the expo has it at a bargain price.
"For Randolph County, this is the only home and garden show we have each year," said Caughron. "Instead of people having to travel far, we're bringing the vendors here and that saves money."
The 4th Annual Randolph County Home & Garden Expo is on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the historic Petty Garage in Level Cross. It's from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It costs $5 for adults but children under 12 are free.
