Autism Walk

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- There's something special happening in Greensboro this weekend and you need to be there!

You can join hundreds of families for The Greensboro Run and Walk for Autism Saturday, September 30, 2017.  It's not only fun, but each step will help support children with autism and the local services that help them.

Marianne Nadeau is the Regional Director for the Autism Society of North Carolina.  She says almost everyone knows someone affected by autism.

"The prevalence of autism in our state is now 1 of every 59 eight-year-olds, according to the CDC," said Nadeau.

On Saturday, September 30, 2017, you can support the Autism Society of North Carolina and the famlies it helps.  Proceeds from the annual Run/Walk for Autism funds local programs and services, including parent and family support, respite care, after-school programming, teacher training, scholarships and more.

WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain is happy to serve as the announcer for the Greensboro Run/Walk for Autism on Saturday, September 30, 2017.  Head to Jaycee Park in Greensboro.  The event gets started right at 9 a.m.
