'Tis The Season To Carve Pumpkins

Pick your Perfect Pumpkin & Carve It!

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Halloween is just a few days away and if you haven't carved your pumpkins yet, this is your weekend to do it!

Fall and Halloween are a great time of year for some family fun projects.  And this week, Tom Garcia visited the grand pumpkin patch at Mount Pisgah Methodist Church in Greensboro.

This is the 26th year for the pumpkin patch.  According to Matt Toney, Youth Director at the church, profits from the pumpkin sale are used to fund their youth charitable activities in the community.

Carving jack-o-lanterns is a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work! So Garcia demonstrated some fun ways for kids to decorate pumpkins without getting hurt. The sell several kid-friendly tools at the pumpkin patch. And for the wee little kids, you can help them use glue and glitter to dress up their pumpkin.

If you still need to pick out your pumpkins, you can head to the church's pumpkin patch at the corner of Battleground Avenue and Pisgah Church Road in Greensboro. They have pumpkins ranging in size from about 6 inches in diameter to more than 2 feet.  Prices start at $1.

In addition, the church has created a pumpkin maze for kids. The pumpkin patch is open every day through Halloween.
