GREENSBORO, NC -- The 76th National Folk Festival is about to make downtown Greensboro sound like one big concert this weekend, but organizers are still looking for many helping hands to put on the show.
The National Folk Festival features 300 musicians, dancers and craftspeople from around the country and features more than 40 performing groups on seven stages. So, organizers ideally want the assistance of more than 1,000 volunteers to ensure all the moving parts flow smoothly.
To sign up to volunteer, register on the National Folk Festival website's volunteer page. Positions feature everything from food sales to airport greeters. Volunteers must be 18 or older or have a guardian, and groups of volunteers under 18 (Girl Scouts, for example) must have one chaperone per every five youth volunteers. Volunteer shifts are typically three to four hours.
The National Folk Festival runs Friday, Sept. 9 through Sunday, Sept. 11 and is free.
Friday, September 9: 6:00 – 10:30 pm
Saturday, September 10: noon – 10:30 pm
Sunday, September 11: noon – 6:30 pm
