WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Winston-Salem Dash opens its 2014 season Thursday night against the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the first season opener in the Dash's home field of BB&T Ballpark.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. game are still available in limited quantity, and seats also remain for the weekend games. Dash director of media relations Brian Boesch affirmed fans are guaranteed an evening of great baseball, as well as entertainment tailored to individuals of all ages. Following the game are fireworks, provided by WilcoHess.
Boesch and Dash president Geoff Lassiter said this year's team roster consists of three of the top 10 White Sox prospects. Guiding the talent this year is returning manager Tommy Thompson, who led the team in 2012 to its best season record.
Lassiter also said this is the first year in which the White Sox owns a stake in the Dash, thereby allowing the team to hold a permanent haven for minor league baseball in Winston-Salem for the next 25 years.
