Gov. Cooper Getting NC Ready

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper met with National Guardsmen at a staging-area in Greensboro on Sunday.

Cooper talked about our state's preparations for Hurricane Irma and met with troops doing swift water rescue training.

More than 300 guardsmen have been activated for in-state duties, and over 12,000 NC guardsmen are ready to go where needed in Florida and other parts of the southeast.

Greensboro, Asheville, and Charlotte are all staging-areas for NC National Guard.
