GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Residents can now enjoy a new attraction in downtown Greensboro.
The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro opened the new Carolyn & Maurice LeBauer Park, Monday, August 8.
The park is located between the Greensboro Public Library, Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, Greensboro Historical Museum, and the future site of the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts. It features a playground, dog park, restaurants, and plenty of space to enjoy a day in downtown Greensboro.
The 4-acre, $10 million project was made possible by a donation from Carolyn Weill LeBauer, who died in 2012. LeBauer made a bequest to the organization for the money to be used to build a park.
The CFGG and other city officials opened the park in a special ceremony Monday.
