I-85 High Speed Chase Ends In Crash, Stolen Items Recovered

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. -- The Davidson County Sheriff's Office says they arrested three people after their SUV wrecked following a high-speed chase. But investigators soon discovered the three men were connected to an earlier crime.

It all started Wednesday around 7:00 p.m. on I-85 South. Deputies said they tried to pull the vehicle with a Florida registration over because it was following to close to another vehicle. The driver failed to stop and officers pursued the driver. Speeds reached up to 90 miles per hour during the pursuit. The chase ended after the driver wrecked on Commercial Boulevard at Beechwood Drive off of 29-70 in Lexington.

Deputies arrested Nixson Sera, Vincent Sands, and Deavis Curry. All three of the men are from Florida.

Deputies found numerous stolen credit cards, a stolen checkbook, two stolen North Carolina drivers license, a stolen North Carolina registration plate. Investigators say the stolen items was evidence from two different vehicle break-ins that just occurred in Archdale and in Greensboro.

Nixson Sera is charged with the following:

  • Following to close
  • Felony fleeing to elude
  • Possession of stolen property (Misdemeanors 3 counts)
  • Left of center – NCSHP Charged
  • Seat belt violation – NCSHP Charged
  • Careless and reckless – NCSHP Charged
  • No operator's license – NCSHP Charged
  • Speeding 95 mph / 20 mph zone – NCSHP Charged

Deavis Curry is charged with the following:

  • Possession of stolen property – Misdemeanors 3 Counts
  • Seatbelt – NCSHP Charged

Vincent Lee Sands is charged with the following:

  • Possession of stolen property – Misdemeanors 3 Counts
  • Simple possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Seatbelt – NCSHP Charged

All three men were placed in the Davidson County Jail on a $50,000 secured bond.
