Man Wanted For Threatening Sheriff On Facebook

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Police are looking for a man who allegedly made threats against Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson on Facebook.

Assistant Chief Verdeck of Burlington Police tells WFMY News 2 Derrick Kenneth Givens, 30, of Haw River, posted a threatening message on the department's Facebook through an anonymous account.

The incident happened on May 29 and police say the comment was immediately removed. At this time, a motive has not been determined.

Givens was arrested on May 31st by Haw River Police for several domestic violence warrants obtained by Carrboro Police.

Givens is facing charges of Communicating Threats. Anyone who has any information on Given's whereabouts is asked to call Burlington Police at 336-229-3500 or Alamance County CrimeStoppers at 336-229-7100.
