RANDLEMAN, N.C.-- Firefighters are investigating a fire that torched a mobile classroom in Randleman.
According to Randolph County 911, the call came in around 11:55 a.m. from Randleman High School on Tigers Den Road. No students were in the trailer at the time and no injuries were reported.
Michael Smith with the Randleman Fire Department says the fire originated around the heating and air conditioning unit attached to the classroom, but the fire was in the attic. The official cause is still under investigation. Some students' bookbags and books were burned. Smith said the mobile unit will have to be replaced.
