Mom Killed In Head-On Collision; 5 Kids Treated For Injuries

LEXINGTON, N.C.-- A mom was killed Friday morning after colliding head on with another vehicle in Davidson County.

Trooper Bowick with the NC State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) tells WFMY News 2 the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Cunningham Road. Bowick said Misty Price, 28, was driving a Ford Explorer, north on Cunningham Rd. and crossed the center lane, hitting another SUV head on.

Price was killed at the scene as a result of the crash. She was not wearing her seatbelt, Bowick confirmed.

Price's four children were in the Explorer with her and all were treated for minor injuries, investigators say. Trooper Bowick said all the children were properly restrained in the vehicle.

A child in the other vehicle was also treated for minor injures.

No one else in that vehicle was treated.

Trooper Bowick said although it was raining in the area this morning, weather didn't play a factor in the collision.
