Multi-Tasking: How To Get Your Paul McCartney Tickets

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Paul McCartney is heading to Greensboro, which means so does the anticipation of ordering tickets.

A lot of people will be juggling their phones and computers just to get those concert tickets, but should buyers go to the box office, order them online, or by phone?

Ticketmaster said buyers should try calling first, because representatives have more resources to help the buyer, but it said to keep trying online while waiting to get through to a representative.

Scott Johnson, the Deputy Director at the Greensboro Coliseum said the box office is also an option, and there are no service charges to buy tickets there.

Some people scalp tickets, but it's not always the safest way. Johnson said to only buy tickets from primary ticket sellers.

"If you're buying from anywhere else, you're not buying first hand," Johnson said. "You're buying second hand, which means you're going to pay more money to a scalper and not necessarily get a better ticket."

Ticketmaster is the primary ticket seller for the coliseum.

Multiple big ticket companies are trying to get rid of scalpers. Most paperless tickets can't be used by anyone other than the person who bought them. That person often needs to show an I-D and the card used to buy the tickets.

Right now, Paul McCartney tickets are ranging from $59 to $250 before fees and taxes.

$16,000 tickets will be available and the coliseum is excited to welcome all the fans in October as well as all the new business it could attract.

"When we have major events like this, one success brings another success," Johnson said. "So the fact that we're having Paul McCartney on Oct. 30 and we expect it to do pretty well, that should help us land future shows."

Greensboro is the only city McCartney is playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

American Express Card Members can buy tickets beginning Thursday, June 26 at 10 A.M. through Sunday, June 29 at 10 P.M.

Sales for the general public begin Monday, June 30 at 10 A.M. Buyers can purchase tickets online or at the box office.

The Box Office Address is: 1921 West Lee Street, Greensboro.

Again, the concert is Oct. 30
