ASHEBORO, N.C. -- The North Carolina Zoo is closing its doors Tuesday, September 12, because of anticipated damage from Hurricane Irma.
The Zoo says the safety of the animals, employees, and guests is the top priority.
The Zoo says all animals are in safe and secure quarters.
The Triad is expected to see 1-3 inches of rain, and gusty winds up to 45 or 50 miles per hour.
