Greensboro, NC -- A group of neighbors who live in Hobbs Landing Court in Greensboro came together on Saturday afternoon to unite against a commercial development that had been proposed near their neighborhood.
The neighborhood sits near the corner of Hobbs and Friendly avenues. The proposed development will be between Hobbs and Holden Roads, in walking distance from the Hobbs Landing Court neighborhood.
Regency Centers developer is proposing a shopping center with 53,000 square feet on 6.7 acres, which will include a grocery store and drug store.
The purpose of Saturday's rally was to demonstrate the united opposition to the proposed development.
The rezoning request could go to the Zoning Commission as early as March.
