One Dead In Archdale Officer-Involved Shooting


ARCHDALE, NC -- Archdale Police say a man died after an officer-involved shooting Sunday night. 

Police say they responded to a home on Mae Matilda Court around 7:30 pm Sunday night in reference to a domestic dispute. While responding, police say a male subject armed with a gun confronted them outside the house. Police say the man pointed his weapon in the direction of Archdale and High Point officers and they returned fire. Police say 53-year-old Bobby Troledge Norris died at the scene.  

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is investigating.  Police say the Archdale officer involved in the shooting will be on administrative leave until the investigation is finished. They have not released their name.
