Parent Accused Of Hitting Principal With Car

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. -- A parent is accused of hitting an elementary school principal with her car in Randolph County Friday.

After school, during child pickup, a school resource officer was called to Trindale Elementary School regarding problems with a parent.

Randolph County Sheriff Maynard Reid said Lisa Ann Barnes was irate when she drove her car over the curb and through the grass recklessly. She then drove her car toward the school principal and swerved to avoid her immediately before hitting the principal who dodged out of the car's path.

Barnes was arrested and charged with Misdemeanor Assault by Show of Force and Injury To Real Property. Deputies say she was released by the magistrate with a $2000.00 unsecured bond.
