Police: Teenager Spray Painted Multiple Businesses And Signs

EDEN, N.C. – A 19-year-old has been charged with spray painting multiple businesses, cars, and signs, police say.

Lieutenant Clint Simpson of Eden Police told WFMY News 2 Skylar Dewayne Dix spray painted different locations with red paint.

Officers said Thursday afternoon the businesses were located along Washington Street.

According to investigators, the items vandalized by Dix include, the mural at the intersection of Henry and Washington Street, several cars at David Price Auto Works, street signs and other businesses.

Dix was arrested at his home and when officers went to talk to him they said he still had red paint on his clothes and his hands. Police seized an empty can of red spray paint from a trash can.

Dix has been charged with twenty counts of Injury to Real Property. He is in Rockingham County Jail under a $5000.00 secured bond.

Eden Police say their investigation is continuing.

Officers and investigators say they have identified other victims of vandalism and charges are pending on the remaining incidents.
