Winston-Salem Police arrested a man they believe hit his 9-year-old son several times in the head with a hammer.
A release from the Winston-Salem Police Department says Ramel Shaban Daye was arrested after police responded to a assault report on East 4th Street in Winston-Salem Sunday. An investigation showed Daye struck the child multiple times with a hammer. The child is listed in critical condition.
Daye, 33, was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. His bond is $1,000,000.
