Chef Secrets: Make Even The Second Batch Golden Brown, Not Black

GREENSBORO, NC -- Ahhh... pancakes. Do yours include one perfect set - followed by a bunch of crispy black ones? Yeah. Chef and GTCC instructor Al Romano shows us his secrets to perfect ones every time.

Tip one: the side where your thermostat is will always be the hotter side.

Tip two: set grill to 400 degree. Pancakes are really a quick cooking method. Once they start to bubble, flip them; Even just a little bubble for a nice golden brown.

Now for the second batch - always spray the griddle again. That's the key. And they'll come out nice and golden brown again.
