Driver, Student Injured After Stokes Co. School Bus Runs Off Road

STOKES COUNTY, NC - A Stokes County school bus ran off the road Monday morning, resulting in the driver suffering a broken leg.

Here's what we know so far:

  • A call to Stokes Co. EMS came in at 7:45 saying a school bus ran off the road at 1576 Hampton Road in Germantown while en route to South Stokes High School.
  • The driver was taken to the hospital with a broken leg.
  • One student is being treated for minor injuries. 
  • Stokes Co. Schools said nine students were on board. They exited through the back door.
  • EMS does not know if there was more than one vehicle involved
