Signs Will Stay Banning Concealed Handguns In Rockingham Co.

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. – A motion to remove signs prohibiting concealed handguns from county buildings did not pass at the Rockingham County Commissioner's meeting Monday night.

The discussion, led by Commissioner Craig Travis, resulted in a vote of 3-2 not in favor.

As people from both sides discussed their views, those in favor expressed the importance of 2nd amendment rights.

On the other sides, one person expressed his fear of the possibility of having another shooting and compared it to the Colorado movie-theater incident. Others spoke about their concerns of people with mental illness and criminal records being able to carry concealed weapons into county buildings.
