South Carolina Neighbors Complain About Woman's Nudity

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A woman arrested for indecent exposure twice in the last two years in York County says she should be able to wear as much or as little as possible in her own yard.

Hot summer days in York County can be brutal. High temperatures and little to no wind give you that "sweat right through your shirt" feeling in minutes.

But on Kelly Road, neighbors say 55-year-old Jeannie Jonas takes it too far too often.

"I've seen her around, yes," said neighbor Misty Valenciano. "She either wears the same clothes half-worn, or she stands out here naked."

Valenciano says it happens enough that all of her kids have seen Jonas naked or partially clothed.

"She will take the hose pipe and take a shower in the front of her home. She's come out of the woods naked."

A neighbor's 911 call led to Jonas' indecent exposure arrest last Thursday. It's her second indecent exposure arrest in the last two years. Court records show she's still on probation.

This time, deputies say Jonas walked around her front yard, back yard and across the street wearing only underwear.

According to the incident report, Jonas said she was hot, tried giving up walking around with barely anything on and wants to live in a nudist colony.

We talked to Jonas for several minutes. Most of our questions were met with long pauses and apparent confusion.
