Storm Damage Reported In Durham

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for central and eastern North Carolina Thursday as a cold front producing heavy rain and storms marches through the state.

WRAL reported a little before 8 p.m. Thursday the National Weather Service was reporting evacuations were underway at Camelot Village apartments in Chapel Hill. The complex has been impacted by flooding problems in the past.

Durham police were reporting trees blocking sections of Hope Valley Road at University Drive and Martin Luther King Boulevard. Police say no injuries have been reported.
