Teen Murder Suspect Caught After Jumping Off Bus

HILLSBOROUGH - An inmate briefly escaped custody while being taken to another prison in Orange County early Friday.

Micah Keishaun Cameron, 17, jumped out of the bus near the intersection of US HWY 86 and U.S. Route 70 around 1:30 a.m. according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office. WNCN out of Raleigh reports Cameron was caught near Highway 57 around 6:45, roughly a mile from where he jumped out of the vehicle. 

Cameron was being taken to the Orange County Detention Facility from Rockingham County Jail. The Sheriff's Office put in a reverse 911 call to residents in the area as an alert.

Cameron carries multiple charges including first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. The teen had previously lived in the Hillsborough area and has family that lives in Orange County.
