Tip Leads Police to Drugs and An Arrest in Danville

DANVILLE, Va.-- Concerned citizens are being part of the solution to get crime and illegal drugs out of their neighborhood. 

Danville Police say a tip from a citizen prompted a 'gang recruiting' search warrant that led to one arrest and a drug bust. The warrant was served Monday at a house in the 200 block of Plantation Road, by the department's Special Investigations unit, Regional Narcotics Task Force, Virginia State Police (VSP) Tactical Team,  VSP Narcotics and Gang Agents.

After executing the warrant officers confiscated these items:

  • Methamphetamine
  • One Firearm
  • Cash
  • Gang paraphernalia

One person was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant. Police have not identified the person.

Additional charges are pending for narcotics and firearms related offenses.
