Triad Girl Gives Back After Community Supports Her Through Cancer Treatment

A local 16-year-old had the community support her though a tough time, and now she is giving her support back.

Over two years ago Savanna Williams was diagnosed with Leukemia. During her tough time the barn where she usually rides horses came together and held a fundraiser for her to help out. And now it is her turn.

Williams held a fundraiser on Saturday to support the families at Brenners Childrens Hospital. With the money raised she will buy gift cards, person items and parking passes for families who have to stay there often.

"We thought it was a tremendous gesture from a 16 year old who is now able to see how others’ generosity benefited her. In short, it’s a story that has come full circle," explained her dad.

The fundraiser is from 6:00 p.m. to midnight at the Quality Inn in Winston-Salem.
