Victims Injured After Shooting In Asheboro Saturday

ASHEBORO, N.C. -- Two people were shot at in Asheboro Saturday night.

Master Police Officer Phillip Hall was on patrol near Peachtree Street when he heard gunshots.

Hall went to 703 West Wainman Avenue and found 2 people had been shot.

According to the police report, 23-year-old Emilio Alston, of Hamlin Street, was shot in the left leg. Another victim, Thomas Baldwin, 24, of Bear Creek, was shot in the right hand.

Alston and Baldwin were originally taken to Randolph Hospital, but were later transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment. It isn't clear whether the victims needed surgery, but police say they expect the two men to be OK.
