Vietnam Veteran From NC Wins $750K Lottery Prize

RALEIGH, N.C. -- David Brantley served his country - and now he gets to treat himself.

The Vietnam War veteran from Henderson, NC won a whopping $750,000 off a Jumbo Bucks ticket.

Brantley bought his lucky ticket at the Minute Shoppe on NC 39 in his hometown.

He says he's going to buy a new pickup truck and a new house. He also plans to share the winnings with his four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

“In 68 years I’ve had cars, but I’ve never had a new car,” the Vietnam veteran said. “Wiley David Brantley is going to get a brand-new Ford pick-up truck.”

After state and federal taxes, Brantley took home $521,016.

Two top prizes of $750,000 remain in the Jumbo Bucks game.
