W-S Police: Car Set on Fire At Gas Station

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Winston-Salem Police Department said someone set a car on fire Wednesday morning in the parking lot of the Murphy Gas Station at Parkway Village Circle.

Police said when fire fighters arrived, they found a burning, unoccupied Chevrolet truck in the northwest corner of the parking lot. Fire fighters quickly extinguished the fire, and it did not affect other property.

Police said officers received information that the fire was set intentionally. The Winston-Salem arson investigators found evidence at the scene that also indicated the fire was most likely arson.

Police said the investigation is in its early stages.
