Watch Out, Randolph County, There's A New Deputy In Town!

ASHEBORO, N.C. – Randolph County Sheriff’s Office had a special visitor who left as an honorary Deputy position.

Austin is a local 20-year-old with autism who has always wanted to be a “law man,” as he described it, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page.

His mother and grandmother reached out to the Sheriff’s Office asking if Austin could visit the Sheriff’s and the rest of the team.

Sheriff Graves gave Austin the task of protecting “his family and home and always do what’s right.”

Austin got a sneak peek at all the cool things the Sheriff and his deputies get to do on a regular day, like eat donuts!

He also got to ride the tactical vehicle and ring the siren, see the motorcycle unit, the new patrol design car and a visit to Randolph County Jail.

Austin definitely got the “day-in-the-life” experience!
