WFMY News 2 Continues #IceBucketChallenge & Challenges You

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- WFMY News 2's Meghann Mollerus and Patrick Wright accepted Thursday a nomination Thursday to complete the "Ice Bucket Challenge"--a nationwide phenomenon intended to raise awareness of and funding for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

Mollerus and Wright accepted the challenge from WFMY News 2's Lauren Melvin, Chad Silber and Tim Buckley, who had completed the challenge earlier in the day. Julie Luck, Frank Mickens, Grant Gilmore and Liz Crawford also have completed the challenge.

The challenge requires participants challenged to dump buckets of ice water over their heads. Upon completing the challenge, participants then nominate three others for the challenge. Those challenged then have 24 hours to complete the Ice Bucket Challenge or make a donation to the ALS Association, which has been underfunded for the past several years.

Mollerus and Wright opted to fulfill both options of the challenge. They each made donations to the ALS Association, prior to doing the Ice Bucket Challenge. WFMY News 2 general manager Larry Audas pledged to personally match Mollerus' donation.
