FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. – A Clemmons store sold a $269,010 winning ticket and lottery officials are searching for the lucky player.
The lucky ticket from the Carolina Cash 5 game was sold at the 4 Brothers at 2410 Lewisville-Clemmons Road.
The winning numbers in the drawing were 1-5-11-33-36. Officials say the ticket sold at the 4 Brothers was the only one to match all five numbers, beating the odds of 1 in 575,757 to win the jackpot.
The ticketholder has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the jackpot at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
Officials tell WFMY News 2 ticket sales have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $3.4 billion for the state. They say net proceeds will be used this year to help pay salaries of teachers and teacher assistants, for pre-kindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, school construction and repair, and need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
