Woman Injured In Shooting At Burlington Apartment Complex

BURLINGTON, N.C. - A woman was hospitalized after a shooting at an apartment complex in Burlington.

Police responded to the apartment complex on Peace Lane around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday. When officers arrived they found a 35-year-old woman who lived at the complex. Police say she was shot in her back and right arm. She was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Witnesses told police about 15-20 minutes before the shooting, there was a disturbance in the parking lot. They say the disturbance stopped and then started back up again a short time later. During this incident, police say a male suspect began firing rounds from the parking lot towards the direction of the apartment complex, hitting apartments B and D. Multiple people were in the those apartments at the time of the shooting but only the woman was injured.

Police say the suspect left in a vehicle and headed towards Maple Ave.
