Worker Rescued From Charlotte Cell Phone Tower

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A rescue operation on top of a Charlotte cell phone tower has ended.

The Charlotte Fire Department saved a worker trapped on the tower in the 3300 block of Shamrock Drive.

The fire department says the employee slipped and fell from the platform. He was dangling for one-and-a-half hours before the firefighters pulled him to safety.

His injuries are non-life-threatening. He's suffering from back pain and pain from loss of circulation.
