McMichael H.S. Football Player Killed In Car Crash

Triad Football Player Killed In Car Accident

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY - A McMichael high school football player died later Friday night after a head-on crash in Rockingham County.

Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Celine-Ali Thomas Alamiri was driving by himself when he crossed the center line and hit an SUV. The accident happened just before midnight on highway 68 at Lauren Road.

The 16-year-old was pronounced dead on scene. 5 people were inside the SUV, including 3 kids. None of them have life-threatening injuries.

Right now, troopers says there's no evidence of any sort of impairment and they don't believe speed was a factor.

Rockingham County Schools will provide additional psychologists and counselors on campus Monday morning and plans to have crisis support available as long as students need it.
